Is there public funding for music?
Funding for albums, tours and videos, newcomers included.
Yes. Germany has many funding programmes for music, and not only for big names.
- Federal level: for example Initiative Musik, the German government's music funding body.
- States and cities: many have their own programmes for pop music and newcomers.
- Things that get funded include album productions, tours and music videos.
Watch the deadlines, applications often only open at certain times. And plan for some of your own money.
In shortApplying is worth it, newcomers included.
All figures are rough guidelines for beginners and focus on Germany. They are no substitute for legal or tax advice.
